Aftercare guidelines
What is preferable to do after Hijama
-
Eat a balanced and healthy meal after Hijama treatment.
-
The tiny superficial cuts can feel itchy after Hijama. Do not scratch or itch where the Hijama was performed.
-
It is recommended to apply black seed oil, olive oil or organic coconut oil to help with the healing process.
-
Hijama tends to make clients feel very relieved. It is important to stay active for at least an hour after Hijama.
-
Clients should avoid workout/hard labour for 24 hours after Hijama.
-
Avoid showering for a day after the treatment. This will allow the skin to produce natural oils to help with the healing process.
-
If required you can take a quick shower after 6 hours of your Hijama session. Ensure it’s a quick shower with warm water, not hot.
-
Avoid body wash, soap, or shampoo on your first shower after Hijama.
-
Avoid steam, sauna & scrubbing on Hijama spots.
-
Avoid consuming milk, cheese, other dairy products and red meat for 24hrs after Hijama. Digesting dairy products places a heavy burden on our body’s detoxification system.
-
You can resume eating straight after Hijama.
-
Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated, eat raw fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed and packaged foods.
-
The round red mark where the cups are applied is normal. These round marks usually disappear within 1 week depending on the healing process, but they could remain up to 3 weeks depending on the individual health condition.
-
Avoid exposing Hijama points to direct sun or strong heat as it may cause sweat. High sodium amounts contained in sweat could lead to itching and could irritate the skin.
